Why was 6 afraid of 7?

Because 7, 8, 9!

So we're a little bit behind on the advent delights, we're even behind on the christmas goodies! Life has just been a little hectic to say the least. I've been working 6+ days a week and safe to say it's taken it's toll, queue the token christmas flu. Definitely time to get some pampering in then. So what pretty treat occurred on December 6th?

(I must apologise for my awful nail polish, too busy to even fix that mess!)

Oh I do love miniature perfumes. There's just something so sweet about a scaled down version, and it's especially handy to keep in your handbag on the go.
I was treated to Lancome, La Vie est belle EDP. The appearance is so beautiful with the ribbon and pale pink colour that I almost don't want to use it . . . almost! As I mentioned before I'm a fan of sweeter fragrances so this is right up my sweet. It's nothing too overpowering so don't be put off if that isn't your thing. Initially I'm hit with a floral scent, this fades out to sweeter vanilla notes and boom, I'm in heaven. Definitely a winner if you're looking for something a little more grown up, but you're not ready to step away from the sweetness just yet.

Could number 7 step forward please?

Kiehl's ultra facial cream. Now you should all know by now my struggle with moisturisers and my silly shiny face, so a cream for dry skin shouldn't really be an ideal choice, right? Wrong. This makes my skin feel so smooth and doesn't transform my face into a greasy mess. It's not a matte formulation so I wouldn't use it as a base for make up, but if I'm braving a bare faced day I certainly wouldn't think twice about using this as my moisturiser of choice. There's no overpowering scent and really relieves my skin when it's feeling tight.

Next up, number 8.

Yves Saint Laurent Forever Youth Liberator Serum. Again, anti ageing isn't exactly a current necessity of mine but it's never to early to start. Prevention is cheaper than the cure they say. In all honesty I'm not 100% sold on this as the ingredients list has me curious. The second ingredient listed is alcohol, I'm no skin care genius but I'm pretty sure alcohol is just going to dry out the skin. That along with the price for a full size version (£61 for 30ml!) don't exactly fill me with a desire to purchase once I've finished this mini. The serum made my skin feel smooth enough, but no miraculous results to make me want to part with so many pennies.

Last but not least, door number 9.

Emporio Armani Code. Another pretty wee bottle. My sister has worn this fragrance for years so it's a very familiar scent to me. Not as sweet as my favourites but a pleasant odour nonetheless. This is a more musky fragrance with an orange undertone, personally however I just don't feel it lasts very long. After just a couple of hours I can't notice the fragrance anymore, I don't mind the odd top up spritz throughout the day just not as often as this would require.

Have you tried any of these beauty treats? How did you find them?
