I'll sleep when I'm dead

How many cups of coffee does it take to fuel one Sian before 10.30am?

In answer to the above, 1 mocha in my trusty pug cup upon waking, 3 Starbucks Caramel Macchiato's before reaching even halfway to Birmingham, and then another 3 cheeky freebie coffees on the train.

I'm currently writing this whilst on my 3rd train of the day and it's not even 11am yet. Whilst normally this wouldn't be much of an issue, I'm currently running on 2 and a half hours sleep, for a change through no fault of my own - the joys of shift work are to blame for this one.

Being one for grabbing any chance I can to catch up with friends, I'm on my way to visit some uni friends in Oxford...tickets were purchased 2 days ago! It's not exactly the most local area for me so it involved a 6 am wake up call, 3 trains and a wee change over at Birmingham New Street station, an unexpected treat as Birmingham is in fact the uni in question that I attended. I was expecting a much welcome blast from the past but oh my has it changed! New street is now all new and swanky, I'm pretty sure if I'd had time to venture outside I may have felt a little lost, it seemed 3 times the size of the station I once frequented 2 years ago.

To keep me entertained on my little journey I weighed my trusty Mulberry down with my macbook and a couple of choice DVDs, in hindsight potentially the wrong choices. For Leeds to Birmingham's 'in flight' entertainment I opted for 21 jump street. I had to stifle fits of laughter for the entire thing (along with stopping myself drool over the delightful specimen that is Channing Tatum). For the homeward journey I've packed frozen . . . Hopefully my carriage won't mind an impromptu Karaoke session to 'Let it Go'?

As the tittle suggests, myself and my friend Caitlin (mosey on over to her blog here) are firm believers in the 'I'll sleep when I'm dead' principal. Quite frankly there aren't enough hours in the day, or week for that matter, to squeeze in work, fun fulfilled activities and rest. Enter Coffee.

Any more Gilmore Girls fans out there?

In the past few years I've come to realise how precious time really is, especially time with friends. It's far too easy to come up with what feels like legitimate excuses to put off plans. I refuse to do it anymore. So what if I'm working late the night before or early the following morning? So what if it's far away? The time is always there, you just have to find it. We found the perfect equation; Not enough hours in the day - sleep + coffee = more time for all the things you want to do.

I've got plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead.

Edit: I may not have drooled over Channing Tatum . . . That didn't stop me from drooling when I nodded off on one of my trains home. Ever the graceful lady me.
