Blend, blend, blend

It's a well known fact that ombré has been a massive trend this year, but it doesn't stop with your hair. Recently ombré has crossed over to fashion and now even make up.

I decided to try my hand at a look that's really been catching my eye lately, ombré lips.

To create this look yourself you will need 2 colours of your choice, here I used quite natural lip tones however bold contrasting colours would work just as well (I'm itching to try purple and orange!).
For the darker outer shade I applied Illamasqua lipstick in 'tramp' with a lip brush. I really would recommend using a brush as it gives greater control enabling you to create a smooth line around the edge of the lips, as well as ensuring the centre of the lip is left clear to later apply your next colour.
To the centre of the lips I applied Illamasqua cream pigment in 'Androgen', again using the lip brush, and then proceeded to blend the edge of the two colours together.
To create a more vivid contrast between the two colours I then pressed a little Illamasqua powder eye shadow in 'sex' to the very centre of the lip.

The products used here create quite a matte finish, however if this isn't to your taste a little vaseline or clear gloss can be applied over the top to give a subtle sheen.

This is a very versatile method and can be adapted for day or night simply by changing your choice of colours. If you're feeling a little more daring incorporating even more colours would create a really intriguing look, when I have a few more colours in my collection rainbow lips are definitely on the cards!

I hope you all have fun experimenting with various ombré  styles.
